Currently the Amberley township has approximately 2,100 residents, with a combination of business / commercial, urban (township) residential and rural consumers in the network. The peak load of the Amberley zone substation is approximately 4.8 MVA.

Currently we have two projects underway to reinforce the network and shift approximately 0.4 MVA of load to neighbouring zone substations and increase back-up ability. Currently load growth is occurring faster than previously forecast, due to subdivision growth and a major elderly care facility development underway.

So, what does this mean for customers on our network? As the number of our network users is increasing at a higher growth rate than previously forecast, MainPower has identified the necessity for reinforcing the network by reducing and shifting part of the Amberley Zone Substation to neighbouring zone substations. Everything else will remain the same and should have no direct impact on our customers.
