Network competency vegetation worker application

You will be applying for a vegetation worker network competency.

MainPower looks forward to assessing your application. This form will be completed with the knowledge that you have been granted qualifications in utility arboriculture paired with competencies to work in the vicinity of power lines.

Competencies expire every 12 or 24 months. It is your responsibility to make sure that your competencies and related certificates are current and submitted for renewal before they expire.

Outage notifications

Drone flight

Dates: Tuesday the 27 January 2026
Time: between 7:00am – 6:00pm (weather permitting)

MainPower will be conducting drone flights in Plasketts Road, Fernside. (Flight time is weather permitting).

This work helps us assess the condition of our lines, and identify any maintenance required. It will help us to plan our maintenance work and upgrades to the power service to increase the reliability and resilience of power for our customers.

Our customers privacy will be respected, and any ‘personal information’ collected in the footage will only be used for the purposes of asset condition assessment, line monitoring, and maintenance. Customers may ask the operator on site to show them the footage, and if there any concerns, customers can ask for footage to be deleted. Please refer to our Privacy Statement on our website.
