The MainPower Trust has appointed Bruce Gemmell and Vincent Pooch as new directors to the MainPower New Zealand Limited Board.
The appointments follow the completion of long-standing service by Board Chair Anthony King and director Stephen Lewis, who both step down after making significant contributions to the organisation and the North Canterbury community.
MainPower Trust Chair, Kevin Brookfield, said the Trust was pleased to welcome two highly experienced directors to the Board.
“Bruce and Vincent bring a strong mix of commercial, governance and sector experience that will add real depth to the Board” said Mr Brookfield.
“Both have demonstrated strong leadership across their careers and share a clear commitment to community-owned infrastructure, with experience that will complement the existing Board.”
Bruce Gemmell and Vincent Pooch join the Board at a time of continued investment and development across the region, with MainPower focussed on strengthening network resilience and enabling a more sustainable energy future.
Bruce Gemmell brings more than 30 years’ experience in the electricity distribution sector, alongside extensive governance, finance and infrastructure expertise. A Chartered Accountant and experienced director, he currently serves on the boards of Buller Electricity and Pioneer Energy Renewables and is a former director of Orion New Zealand.
Vincent Pooch brings more than 30 years of governance and strategic advisory experience across New Zealand’s infrastructure, engineering, logistics and industrial sectors. A Chartered Fellow of the Institute of Directors, Chartered Accountant and qualified engineer, he offers expertise in governance, risk management and organisational performance.
