Hanmer Springs Substation

As part of MainPower’s planning for future capacity, as well as the retirement of end-of-life assets, we are going to install a new substation to meet projected growth in the Hanmer Springs region.

The new substation project will take 4–5 years to complete and will be built at a new location that can support larger assets.

Right now, we are working on initial concept designs for the new asset and in negotiations to procure suitable land for the installation.

We still have multiple outages across the network but we’re making good progress assessing damage and restoring power as quickly and safely as possible.

We have multiple crews on the ground again today replacing poles and restoring power across the network.

Estimated restoration times are being uploaded to the Outage Map once areas have been assessed and we have a good indication of how long it will take to restore power.
