Earlier this year we upgraded the line that supplies electricity to Hanmer Springs from 33 kV to 66 kV.
While Hanmer Springs does not require additional capacity at this time, this upgrade will facilitate capacity increases in the future.
This project helps improve the resilience and reliability of the existing line with stronger conductors and structures. It also enables the decommissioning of end-of-life assets at Marble Point Zone Substation
We continue our commitment to minimising any inconvenience to the community.
After consulting with the Community Board, we’ve decided to replace sections of the line over the next 3–5 years, spreading out the work to lessen disruption.
