Fraser joined as a Director of MainPower in August 2018. He is a member of the Board’s Audit and Risk Committee and a member of the Safety, Health, Wellbeing and Environment Committee.
Fraser retired as CEO of Pioneer Energy in 2025, a position held since 2010. He had more than 30 years’ experience in the energy sector as an energy consultant in South Africa before moving to New Zealand and being involved in the distribution, generation, and retail environment in both New Zealand and Australia.

Janice joined as a Director of MainPower in August 2016 and is Chair of the Board’s Audit and Risk Committee and a member of the People & Remuneration Committee.
Janice is a professional director with a broad portfolio of current and past directorships, and extensive executive experience. She is a Chartered Accountant and a Chartered Fellow of the Institute of Directors and holds a Master of Business Administration (Massey).
Other directorships: Janice is a council member of Lincoln University and a Director of Aurora Energy Ltd, Greenpower NZ Ltd and Mt Cass Wind Farm Ltd. Janice is also a Trustee of NZ Shipwreck Welfare Trust and Tregynon Charitable Trust and is an independent member of the Timaru District Council Audit and Risk Committee.

Hilary joined as a Director of MainPower in August 2025. She is a member of the Audit and Risk Committee and the Safety, Wellbeing and Environment Committee.
Hilary has extensive experience in organisational psychology, risk management, security, artificial intelligence, information technology, digital business transformation, and technology-driven cultural change. She has held high-profile roles such as Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at Microsoft, Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) at the Kordia Group—overseeing cybersecurity across Australia and New Zealand—and Chief Information Officer (CIO) at Airways New Zealand. Her expertise extends beyond the private sector, including work with Mi5, leading the Information Security program for the London 2012 Olympics and Paralympic Games, and serving as a uniformed Officer in the Royal New Zealand Air Force. Hilary is also a published author on security culture and a digital influencer through her "Digital Culture Ideas" podcast, YouTube channel, and other social media platforms.
Other directorships include Independent Member of the Christchurch City Council's Audit and Risk Management Committee, Trust Board member of Medbury School, Chair of the New Zealand Telecommunications Network Security Information Exchange, Deputy Chair of RiskNZ (formerly the NZ Society of Risk Management), a former Board Member of Regenerate Christchurch, which focused on guiding the city's transition from disaster recovery to long-term regeneration following the earthquake.

Murray and his family farm arable crops near Oxford in North Canterbury. He is an experienced director and has been involved as a governor across a broad range of large corporate businesses, particularly in the primary sector. He was a Nuffield Scholar and was awarded the Tasman Region FMG Rural Excellence Award. Murray is a Chartered Fellow of the Institute of Directors.

Bruce Gemmell brings more than 30 years’ experience in the electricity distribution sector, alongside extensive governance, finance and infrastructure expertise.
A Chartered Accountant and experienced director, he currently serves on the boards of Buller Electricity and Pioneer Energy Renewables and is a former director of Orion New Zealand.
