Raramai Tunnel works, SH1, Peketā
MainPower will be carrying out essential network upgrade work at the Raramai Tunnel next week. This work will require single lane stop/go traffic management with potential road closures (maximum 20 minute duration) that may affect travel plans for some of our customers.
Location: Raramai Tunnel, SH1, Peketā
- Monday 9 to Wednesday 11 February: Parking bays and the pedestrian walkway north of the tunnel will be closed for equipment laydown and construction.
- From 6.00am Tuesday 10 to 8.00pm Thursday 12 February: Stop/go traffic management will be in place with traffic reduced to one lane through the tunnel to support helicopter and construction activity. Stop/go will remain overnight, controlled by lights.
Timings may vary due to weather. Motorists should expect delays and are encouraged to plan ahead or use alternative routes..
