In early 2025 we began construction on a new substation at 41 Reserve Road, Balcairn. We’re proud to say that construction is now complete and that the new Amberley Zone Substation is in the commission phase.
Why was this work needed?
This new substation will replace the previous, aging infrastructure and increase capacity and future-proof the electricity network for the growing community.
The substation will be screened by a native planting strip. Once this is established, there will be very little to see from the road.
What is happened
To support this new development, the electricity lines and poles to and from the substation have been be upgraded and in some circumstances moved to new locations.
Now that the project is complete, we will begin decommissioning the current substation on Lawcocks Road.
