MainPower offers a scholarship of $5,000 to support and promote study in the BE(Hons) programmes at Te Whare Wānanga o Waitaha | University of Canterbury.

The scholarship is administered by Aruhiko Power Engineering Excellence Trust (PEET), and tenure is for one year. Successful applicants may also be given the opportunity to get paid work experience at MainPower.

The MainPower scholarship is open to University of Canterbury engineering students enrolled in their second or third professional year of the Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) degree.

Due to high winds yesterday, there are a number of power outages on the MainPower network. Our teams are working to restore power as safely and quickly as possible.

There is a significant weather event due to impact the network tomorrow, Thursday 23 October. Customers should prepare for power outages that may last some days.

Medically dependent customers should ensure their power retailer has their most current information, have spoken to their medical professional and are prepared to relocate if needed.
