Kaiapoi planned work
Kaiapoi residents may notice an increase in planned power outages over the coming months, as MainPower work to upgrade electricity assets in the area. We apologies for any inconvenience this may cause.
Hanmer Springs outage
Tuesday 14th May from 11am -4pm.
In April, we installed a temporary 60 metre long 'interrupter cable.'The cable allowed Transpower to work on their transmission lines without needing a multi-day outage to the Hanmer Springs area.
During the upcoming outage we will remove the cable, which is located on private property, and reinstate our existing overhead lines. To minimise further planned outages in Hanmer Springs, we will also be carrying out general maintenance activities during this time.
The alternative date for this work is 21st May.
