MainPower seeks non-network capacity solutions

MainPower New Zealand Limited is reaching out to industry experts and innovators to help shape the future of energy in the North Canterbury and Kaikōura regions. We invite proposals for the provision of non-network capacity solutions for our Mouse Point Zone Substation as part of our strategic effort to meet the evolving needs of our customers and the energy sector.

As the owner and operator of an electricity distribution network serving over 44,000 customers, MainPower is committed to ensuring a reliable and resilient energy supply. Our MPowered Future strategy is designed to address the challenges and opportunities presented by the growth in renewable energy, the rise of new technologies, the push for electrification, and the changing expectations of our customers.

We are seeking input through a Request for Information (RFI) process. The RFI aims to gather information that will guide us in identifying potential non-network capacity solutions. We are particularly interested in understanding the costs, timelines, and potential risks associated with these solutions, as well as the capability of suppliers to deliver them.

This is a unique opportunity for organisations to contribute to the development of innovative energy solutions that will help MainPower build a sustainable and future-focused energy future. We encourage all interested parties to engage with this RFI and provide their insights.
