Disclosures

MainPower’s lines business is perceived by the Government as having monopoly characteristics, and as such they believe that it is in the public’s interest to regulate these businesses.  There are a number of regulations that we must comply with, supervised by a number of different government bodies – the Electricity Commission, The Commerce Commisssion and The Ministry of Economic Development in particular.

The regulations currently centre on requirements to maintain service quality and manage prices (the Thresholds), and to provide information in the form of disclosures of our financial and operational performance plus our long term plans to manage and continue to maintain the network (asset management plans).

In this section you will find the following information:

  • MainPower Disclosures - Information about the Company, in the form of our public reports prepared every 6 months and our Statements of Corporate Intent
  • Commerce Commission Disclosures - Information regarding the prices that consumers pay to receive our services, and the associated terms and conditions
