About
MainPower New Zealand Limited owns and operates the electricity distribution system throughout the North Canterbury and Kaikoura regions and supplies line services to approximately 32,000 customers.
Day to day management of MainPower's distribution system is undertaken by a team of highly professional, qualified personnel, including engineering, computing and information management specialists, utilising the latest in GIS (Geographical Information System) computer technology.
The construction and maintenance side of MainPower's business has been separated from MainPower and established as a wholly owned subsidiary, MainPower Contracting Limited.
MainPower NZ Limited also has an 80% interest in VirCom Energy Management Services Limited.
