Areas affected by power outages as a result of the Earthquake

Kaiapoi - Charles Street, Feldwick Drive, Cass Street

4.23pm - Tuesday 07 September 2010

Residents of Bracebridge Street should have power by 6pm Tuesday evening.

MainPower has installed 6 generators of different sizes in the Charles Street, Jollie Street, Cass Street, Moore Street, Feldwick Drive area to provide power supply overnight. As a result, most areas of Kaiapoi should have supply apart from a lack of supply due to localised issues such as individual service main faults.

We are still locating additional damage to cables in multiple locations. Unidentified damage may cause further disruptions over the next 2-3 days. Additional resource has been recruited from other areas, into the North Canterbury area to assist with resolution of the ongoing issues.

We will be maintaining power to Council pumps as a priority.

Remaining infrastructure issues such as leaning poles, services off barge boards etc will be addressed over the coming days.

Pines Beach/Kairaki/Courtney Drive

If you are returning to your home and discover power is still unavailble please contact MainPower on 0508 60 70 80 to arrange an inspection of your home prior to relivening. Please note you must be on site during this inspection.
