The sculpture is made up of letterboxes and street signs collected from the parts of Kaiapoi that have been red-zoned in the wake of the Canterbury earthquakes.

MainPower Chief Executive Bruce Emson and Engineering Manager Peter Hurford attended the unveiling ceremony, which was hosted by Kaiapoi community group "You Me We Us". At the event, Waimakariri District Mayor David Ayers spoke about the strength and resilience of the region's residents and thanked MainPower for their sponsorship, which allowed the sculpture to find its permanent home.
