Congratulations to our successful 2017 MainPower Hurunui Natural Environment Fund recipients.
Established in partnership with the Hurunui District Council, the fund supports community initiatives to improve the district’s biodiversity.
Moir Farms Amberley - awarded $2.500
To establish a protected area of native planting around a natural waterway which already harbours some native plants. This work will be in Creek Gully on Teviotdale Farm.
Mt Lyford Association - awarded $2,500
This newly established Association will use the funding to begin the eradication of wilding trees around the area of Mt Lyford and in doing so protect the bio diversity of the area.
Port Robinson Reserve Advisory Group - awarded $5,000
The group has planted native in recent years in the Reserves area and will use the grant to complete the eradication of wilding Pines in the area.
