The Amberley Community Pool, built in 1927, is owned on the communities’ behalf by the Hurunui District Council. The Amberley Community Pool Society is on a mission to raise funds to ensure that everyone in the community will benefit from being able to use a new indoor heated, all-year-round pool facility.
The North Canterbury Academy of Music was established in 1983, with just six enthusiastic young students and their families. Over the years the academy grew and today has a membership of over 100 students. Based at the Rangiora Town Hall, the academy offers class and individual tuition in singing and in ten instruments, covering every musical style. The academy is managed by an elected committee made up of teachers and parents and part funded by the Ministry of Education.
Sefton is a small country school with a big heart in the midst of a very supportive community. The school prides itself on its family atmosphere, where the whole team works together for the good of all the children.
North Canterbury Riding for the Disabled is a voluntary organisation providing people with a disability the opportunity to enjoy educational, therapeutic and recreational horse riding lessons. Riding for the Disabled assists each individual rider to gain confidence and success, through the bonding with horse, coach and volunteer.
