Asset Manager - Overhead Network

At MainPower, we are committed to delivering real value to our customers and community and have a dedicated Network team with a strong focus on life cycle asset management.  We are looking for a motivated and experienced Asset Manager to join our Assets team.

Reporting to the Network Assets Manager, the role uses asset lifecycle processes to ensure the successful delivery of our maintenance and replacement programmes.  You will ensure that customer expectations are incorporated into our maintenance frameworks, develop and implement maintenance plans, identify risks and consequence and performance improvement.      

This role will suit an individual who likes structure and schedules, has great attention to detail, is passionate about safety and has a good understanding of asset management in the electricity industry.  You will also need to be skilled in incident investigation, problem solving and decision making.

To achieve this we are looking for someone who has:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification and/or equivalent experience.
  • A strong understanding and knowledge of the electricity industry with proven experience in infrastructure maintenance and replacement (overhead network experience desirable)
  • An absolute commitment to workplace and public safety.
  • Experience in the application of asset management methodologies and data analysis.
  • Experience in the use of Computerised Maintenance Management Systems and a high degree of proficiency in the use of Excel and Word.
  • A professional and results orientated approach with good business and customer focus.
  • Strong project management skills and experience.
  • The ability to work constructively in a team, demonstrating a willingness to share information and to coach and mentor others.
  • Excellent communication and problem solving skills.

Line Mechanics

If you have a passion for working outdoors, enjoy working as part of a team while providing a service for the local community, and are a qualified Line Mechanic, then this could be the job for you. We are seeking qualified
distribution Line Mechanics to join our Overhead team to undertake maintenance and capital works on our overhead distribution network. Some manual civil work is also required as part of this role.

Applicants must hold a current NZ Line Mechanic Registration, a current practicing licence and have proven experience as a Line Mechanic. We would love to hear from you if you have the following:
